Krissy.
I've been in touch with Frank and he has the football and travel details on how to get to the pitches at Glasgow Green on Sunday. Have you had a chance to speak to him?
In case you haven't, the game is on astro-turf and k.o. is at 4pm. Afterwards its back to the Ironhorse in the city centre for a bite to eat and a few beers.
Hope that puts some light on things. Cheers and see you Sunday.
Glenn.

Hello all.
For those of you who are unaware about yesterdays outcome I'd like to briefly explain what happened.
Around 11am yesterday morning I got a phone call to say that Rampant Lions couldn't play the tie because they didn't have enough players to play against us at Glasgow Green. I said to them that we would have enough players to at least make up two teams and get the game going ahead, with WESTA still going through to the next round due to basically a 'no show'. Unfortunately this still couldn't happen and we had to cancel the game.
Now from my own point of view I was disappointed to say the least that we couldn't get the game played. I know that alot of the lads who I asked to play had changed plans on Sunday to make sure that they would be available in the afternoon. Not only that but the time and effort put in to get the team together and the facilities arranged was then a waste of time and money to the club and me. Cancelling the pitch, the ref, the players and the food was embarrassing at the time. Thankfully, Eddie was understanding enough at the Ironhorse regarding the situation. As far as I'm aware I managed to get a hold of everyone to let them know it was off, apart from Ian Clarkson who unfortunately didn't get my message - sorry Ian.
I know that one or two of the Rampant Lion lads have been on here and I would like to know from anyone at what point did they know that they were in fact struggling, as the impression I got everything was fine?! I had been in touch with them a fair bit from the start to ensure they knew where and when everything was happening so to find out that short notice was abit of a joke.
All I can say is I am sorry for those of you who turned up to support us on the day and had a wasted journey but it was good to hear a few members would've been there.
Lastly, thanks as well to all the players who had shown alot of enthusiasm for the game and had put in their own time to be there for WESTA.
I'll be in touch to let you know about our next game, lets hope its all worthwhile in the end.
Glenn.

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO START OFF BY SAYING SORRY TO THE MEMBERS OF THE WESTA FOOTBALL TEAM AND ITS SUPPORTERS FOR OUR NON APPEARANCE ON SUNDAY FOR THE TENNENTS CUP MATCH .I DID EVERYTHING I COULD TO GET A TEAM ON THE PITCH ON THE DAY BUT UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO VERY LATE CALLOFFS I WAS UNABLE TO FIELD A TEAM FROM MY CLUB. MY NEXT TASK WAS TO TRY AND GET A TEAM OF ANY SORT SO AS WE COULD COME THROUGH AND PLAY THE GAME, BUT TO HAVE FORFIETED THE TIE. TO THIS END TAM FERRY WAS PHONED ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND ASKED IF WE WERE ABLE TO GET A COUPLE OF EASTA PLAYERS TO COME THROUGH WITH US TO PLAY THE GAME WOULD THIS BE O K. TAM WAS NOT SURE AS HE DID NOT WANT THE EASTA BANNED FROM THE CUP FOR HIS PLAYERS HAVING PLAYED FOR THE LIONS.I TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT WE WERE NOT TRYING TO PLAY THE GAME AS A CUP MATCH BUT RATHER AS A FRIENDLY WITH THE WESTA OBVIOUSLY GOING THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND. THIS I KNOW IS NOT VERY SATISFACTORY BUT I KNOW THAT I TRIED MY BEST TO GET A TEAM ON THE PITCH BUT TO NO AVAIL. THIS IS OUR FIRST TIME OF ENTERING THIS COMPETITION AND IT DOES NOT SHOW US IN A VERY GOOD LIGHT BUT I AM SURE WE CAN DO BETTER NEXT YEAR IF WE ARE INVITED BACK . THESE ARE NOT EXCUSES BUT A COUPLE OF POINTS I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ABOUT THE COMPETITION FIRSTLY WHEN WE ENTERED THE COMPETION IT WAS MY DETAILS THAT WERE PUT ON THE FORM , I DID NOT HEAR OFFICIALLY ABOUT THE DRAW UNTIL AFTER I HAD SENT OUT A COUPLE OF E-MAILS TO TAM FERRY AND THE WESTA CLUB SAYING THAT I HAD HEARD THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE THAT WE HAD BEEN DRAWN AWAY TO WESTA. THIS WAS MORE THAT TWO WEEKS AFTER THE DRAW HAD BEEN MADE. SECONDLY I KNEW FROM ABOUT THE 25TH FEBRUARY THAT YOU WANTED TO PLAY THE GAME ON SUNDAY THE 28TH MARCH AS THIS TIED IN WITH YOUR CLUB MEETING BUT IT WAS NOT UNTIL MONDAY 22ND MARCH THAT IT WAS FINALLY CONFIRMED AFTER I HAD CONTACTED YOURSELVES. I KNOW YOU COULD NOT BOOK THE PITCH UNTIL 1 WEEK BEFORE BUT ALSO I COULD NOT CONFIRM WITH MY PLAYERS EXACT DETAILS OF WHEN AND WHERE THE GAME WAS TO TAKE PLACE. I DID KEEP MY MEMBERS INFORMED OF DEVELOPMENTS ON OUR CLUB WEBSITE "rampantlions dundee.tk/", IF YOU GO ON OUR SITE YOU WILL SEE THE MESSAGES POSTED. AGAIN I WOULD LIKE TO APPOLOGISE AND HOPE THIS DOES NOT LEAVE A SOUR TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH AS WE ARE A NEW CLUB AND ARE JUST FINDING OUR FEET. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY COMMENTS YOURS FRANK RAMPANTLIONS MEMBER

Well Frank, perhaps if you had contacted us and not Tam Ferry, who is nothing to do with WESTA, on the Saturday when it was clear that you could not get a team, we could have cancelled the park in time to get a refund and let our players know so that they could have changed there plans.
Your excuses are not acceptable, particularly when you are trying to lay blame at our door, and I for one will object to your participation in any future tournaments.

FIRSTLY CONTACTING EASTA INSTEAD OF YOURSELVES WAS ABOUT GETTING THE GAME PLAYED AND NOT HAVING TO CANCEL THE PITCH. SECONDLY IWOULD UNDERSTAND IF WE WERE NOT INVITED NEXT YEAR ,BUT I DONT THINK YOU CAN TAKE THE HIGH ROAD AS YOUR MAN TOLD ME ON SUNDAY MORNING THAT YOUR CLUB ALSO HAD TEETHING PROBLEMS LAST YEAR. THIRDLY I WAS NOT BLAMING YOU'S, I WAS SIMPLY POINTING OUT SOME FACTS ABOUT THE CONTACT BETWEEN CLUBS. I UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR CLUB AND SOME MEMBERS PUT A LOT INTO THIS GAME. I ALSO PUT A LOT INTO THIS GAME BUT WAS LET DOWN BY OTHERS AND THIS WILL BE ADDRESSED. YOURS FRANK

marky firstly i would like to sorry about the game having to be be cancelled on the sunday ,following the conversations with frankie who was trying his best to get a team to get down to yourselfs even went out his way to get none members of the club to play knowing we could not even go through to next round.he had called early sunday morning to say some of the football boys had to cancel because of the times.no excuses for the boys no getting down there but it was not all his fault.we had been telling the boys we where waiting for the reply from yourselfs and didn`t find out until the monday b4 hand there was agame and some of our boys found it hard to sort out with other football games and family.yes it has nothing to do with easta but you lads seemingly called tam himself and was not happy about the game being cancelled if you had called frank himself we would have been quite happy to went halfs for the pitch and this would seemed to been the better way .again we dont blame your lads for the situation it was all down to our lads.but it only left the 5 days to sort out the transport and trying to get the team together as explained to you we are a new club and trying to get on our feet and we would like to think that all tartan army clubs would understand it is hard to get them up and running so again i would like to say i know you ran about to get the football pitch sorted but our man tried to his best to get 11 men down to you and there was nothing he could have done to get the boys that could not make it to change there minds on the sunday .we do hope theres no hard feelings over this matter and hope to keep in touch with your club and hope by the next one comes along that we as a club are invited back and if drawing againt your lads at your home pitch we would pay for the ground.clansmin

The claim that the game was not confirmed until the monday before is absolutely not true. The date was confimed weeks in advance the only thing to be confirmed was the pitch which was always going to be in Glasgow as Glenn let your man know well in advance.
