john collins against Brasil, I hyperventilated! Colin Stein's header at Wembulee '69 - we lost 4 - 1 charlie Nicholas' goal in the 2 -2 draw '83, we were 2 down and he controlled and lobbed with geat aplomb! Kenny had a few! Spain '83, the second. Wasn't in Belgium '82 for his even greater one but my father was. Denis law's header in '66, we lost 4 -3 and it was my first game. Hutch's goal at Wembulleeeeeee! Rioch scored a cracker against either Rumania or Denamark in '75 Super Ally Villa Park Euro '96 , mind you he had missed a bundle before. His goal against Greece in the qualifiers where he came on from the bench and hit it with his ear for his 1st touch.

I remember this goal as if it were yesterday. Kenny mis controls the ball, 1 -1 , they had scored first, and he mis hits it and Clemence mis catches it , and I mysteriously self combust with sheer happiness.

Alan Rough came outside his box to clear and ended up dribbling around an Englishman. the crowd went mad and 3 folk were resuccitated. This scene was renacted in the film Braveheart, seemingly! Mcgrain , the best full back in the world at the time, made a 50 yard sprint with only Clemence to beat. The crowd noticing it was Danny and even from the middle of the Celtic end I saw the fear in his face, well as I said, the crowd relaxed and waited for the inevitable. Danny took a bigger divot than Monty on the final green of the US Open needing 3 putts to win. Clemence bent down tied his shoe laces and then picked up the trundler. Never mind the 2 - 1 victory was replayed a year later and a huge banner on Wembley Way had a cartoon of Clemence with bandy legs - proclaiming , ' Scots wa hae , spread them Ray!' Ye cannae beat it!

John Robertson's penalty in '81 at Wembley. It was a dour game and Provan was upended in the box. robbo had a puff of his customery fag and slipped it past Joe corrigan. We had been served with an asbo and a crowd of 81,000 turned up. Mostly Scots. The SfA had a picture of a banner in their old office reception proclaiming ' You tried to ban us Mr Croker' He was the Secretary of the Englisf FA. he claimed later to have the same picture in his office.

I remember as if it were yesterday my first game , a friendly at home to Denmark in '51. Amazingly 75,000 turned up & we won 3 0. billy Steel got at least 1, And possibly Lawrie Reilly got one. there were 3 Hansens playing for the Danes and one enjoyed his pint in the Iron Horse after the game he decided to stay. He married a local and had 2 sons who went on to play senior football. One was called Alan , I met his dad one day and he said Alan was the fiercest patriot. fierceley Scottish and in no way an anglophile. Wonder what happened to him? to answer the question I think we last won a friendly at Hampden in the late 70s! remember we beat trinidad & tobago a couple of years ago at Easter road. Does this count?

Mitchell of Newcastle Utd got the 3rd, wish I had been there! You know me and useless facts , I am guessing that the last time we won a friendly at home was the 6 -1 defeat of the old Yugoslavia in 1984. Surely not? They scored first, Cooper equalised and the rout went on from there.
