I have just been reading the Scottish newspapers on -line and I see that there is a suggestion that "Scotland" are being lined up to play "The Foreign Legion" ie foreign nationals based in Scotland. Having watched the same type of game here in Germany a month or so ago, it got me thinking that this is a great idea for a charitable event. However my flabber was truly gasted when I read that the plan is to hold the game FOUR days before the start of the season in August, is this a wind- up....One - they would have to play in school style black sannies to prevent injury. Two- I thought certain clubs claimed they played too many games already. Three- Would I want to pay good money for what would be no more than a bounce game.....well what do you think

Totally agree with you, it would be nothing more than a bounce game if it were played on the preferred date.
SPL clubs (especially the OF) would never agree to have their star men playing in a game so close to the start of the season.
We would surely get gubbed anyway!!

That depends on how many Thistle players would be in the Scotland team.

What a crap idea..who the hell would want to pay good money to watch a bounce, friendly, challenge match between a Scotland side without most of the top players against a foreign legion of Dundee and Livvy subs. A complete yawn of a match and a pointless excersise. The charity side is obviously comendable but the potential is there for an embarresing crowd of about 2,000 at that time of the year.
