1. Gordon - Some good stops but plenty of room for improvement in his overall game.
2. McNamara - Excellent.
3. McAllister - Probably not good enough on this show.
4. Pressley - Sorry, you can count me out of the Elvis fan club. I love his commitment but he's a poor mans Colin Hendry.
5. McKay - Solid enough, fouled at their goal, but needs pace alongside him.
6. Caldwell - Steady, but more a squad player than a first pick for me.
7. Holt - Ditto - brave at his goal though.
8. Fletcher - Once some of the rough edges are smoothed out what a player he's going to be for us.
9. Quashie - If he can hit the ground running for Pompey next season he could be an important man for us in W.C. campaign.
10. McFadden - What else can you say about Faddy? It's just great to see a player in a Scotland jersey trying and doing the things he does.
11. Crawford - Overall game has always been pretty good but he needs to up his strike rate.
12. Kerr - Would like to see more of him at this level.
13. Hughes - Mmmmmmm. Not sure.
14. Caldwell - Squad player.
15. Webster - Needs to keep improving to develop into a first pick.
16. McNamee - Good cover for Jackie Mac and gives us options. Much better than Alexander.
17. Miller - Trying too hard. Needs some goals early next term.
Overall the two games were billed as (a) a warm up for Moldova and (b) a confidence booster for next season. With this backdrop it's hard to call it anything other than a resounding success whatever the quality of the opposition. ;D ;D
One slight worry for me though is that we still look very vulnerable to the counter attack when we lose it in midfield, that's something Berti will have to sort out.
PS What about those T&T fans. Couldn't resist chatting up a couple of them pre match. There were some real high street honeys in amongst them.

JP, there will be no question of people jumping on any bandwagon.

The Scottish team is being rebuilt, the manager is using a number of friendies to assist in that process, his target is qualification for WC 2006.

I and all scottish fans will say that they are obviously very concerned and disappointed about how long that rebuilding process is taking. Coupled with some dubious results in those friendly matches.

However throughout the rebuilding process everyone should back and support the team. Of course the manager will be judged by results in the qualifying campaign, if those results do not go in our favour then the managers position should be reconsidered, that's not jumping on a bandwagon, thats life!!

In the meantime take the positive route and support the team AND the manager

BROON, I ASK YOU ONE QUESTION. WHAT PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE ON THIS REBUILDING PROCESS UNDER THE WEE GERMAN JOKER IN THE LAST TWO YEARS

As you will have read in my post I am very concerned about the length of time the rebuilding is taking. However, if you were to compare the team of today against the last team of Craigie Broon then I believe that progress has been made.

There is a considerable reduction in the average age of the team which will stand us in good stead for the future, fresh talent is starting to come through and when (if) we witness a full strength team they should be in a position to compete with most of the "second tier" European teams. One may argue that we should be seeking to compare ourselves against the first tier but I regret that we are still some way from that.

I beilieve that after the nightmare of Paris we required to effectively start all over again and it's from that position I measure. It is only in recent years that Scottish (and some other nations) club teams have had to fall back on home grown talent as finances dictate the players to be used.

Don't get me wrong I am not jumping up and down shouting support Berti, but he should be given the opportunity of the qualifiers, as he has always said that this was his target (qualification for WC 2006). I will continue to state that we should support the team AND the manager and face the consequences if required.
