I really think that if this boy can steer clear of injury he could be the answer to our longstanding striking problems. If he gets a few starts in the Celtic side and keeps banging in the goals I'd chuck him in against the Tallies. Who knows - with Maloney starting to show up really well and a settled look about the midfield, maybe better times are just around the corner for Scotland!! ;D

How many clear chances does Maloney miss?

Aye JP yar clever! You would drop Miller after last night would you? Is the caps lock still stuck on your keyboard? At least I can spell ya fud PS Last night settled one thing for me - Douglas and Alexander defo aint good enough. Plenty of positives from the rest though. ;D

Scotland call for striker Beattie
Beattie has been in good form for Celtic Scotland manager Walter Smith has called up Celtic striker Craig Beattie for September's World Cup qualifiers with Italy and Norway. Beattie, 21, scored twice for the Under-21s against Austria last week and has netted three times as a substitute for Celtic this season.
There are no other new faces in the 24-man squad, while Paul Dickov and Derek Riordan are not included.
Southampton winger Neil McCann is recalled by Smith.
