Well folks give me the official WESTA match report and verdict. ie the behind the scenes updates, what really happened etc.
I watched the game in an Irish Pub in Frankfurt then read The Record report on line, somehow staying in Germany seemed like the right choice to have made. Eintracht were promoted to the Budesliga at the weekend so the locals are all happy bunnies.
I haven't come across any hoolies who intend visiting Glasgow, but with the strength of the euro against the pound, our booze will seem very cheap - so they probably will not make it out of the pub.

ok it was only New Zealand (aren't they ranked above us) and we were at home but I saw some encouraging signs last night. The back 4 apart from a couple of mad moments was starting to look like a unit for the first time. We created enough chances to have won comfortably despite an unfamiliar McNamara\Dailly partnership in midfield, McFadden and Devlin were a real threat once they got going and must play V Deutschland. Naysmith was outstanding and all in all I thought it was a decent showing. Given that Lambert, Hutcheson, Cameron and Miller could all return next week I think there is room for just a wee bit of optimism. That said now it's time for a moan. The 'boo' boys at the end were bang out of order as was the predictable media witch hunt today. Ok 1-1 V New Zealand ain't great but it's time to get behind Berti and the boys or get tae f****.

Match report according to me - First of all, acceptable crowd, which again showed that playing friendlies around the country is a better choice than playing Hampden, but then again, the SFA have to recoup some of the £50M they wasted. Also, we managed to score, which probably wouldn't have happened at Hampden, as in the last 5 friendlies. As to the match - Ross - out of sorts, I think that the recent absence from the Gers teamshowed Devlin- looked as if he hasn't been playing regularly, or tired after the season - didn't seem as prepared to take the full backs on as he has done in previous 2 matches Kyle-not the sort of player we need, certainly not for competitive matches. The long ball tactic just does not work for us. Bad marking for their goal. McFadden-ironic that he just got into the squad and no more, and now Berti says he must start against Germany. The problem was that as he looked like the only player who could do anything, every ball then got played to him, and he frequently was then marked tightly. Definitely one for the future, though has to play v Germany. However, overall, there seemed to be no central midfield last night - obviously Dailly and McNamara are not suited for that role, and it showed. I feel that if results like this keep happening, Berti's P45 will soon be in the post. Personally I think that you can't make a purse out of a pig's ear, but the public are becoming impatient. Up front against Germany, he has to play Cameron, Hutchison, Miller and Devlin. It's a great shame that McCann has been dropped due to his outburst after ROI, as he could do a good job. But, if we play anything like last night, we could be on the wrong end of a good doing, and there will be no surprises about that. Forza Scozia !!!
