Really good performance from Scotland today i felt. Took a day off work to watch the game and the only thing that spoilt it for me was the Japanese TV crew zooming in on Coyle just before kick off. Good to see Westa's very own Sumo wrestler made it though!
Marky you must be well pleased with Boyd. Took his first goal really well and was in the right place at the right time for his second, after Big Russell was trying to atone for slack defending at the Bulgars equaliser!
Much tougher test against the nips on Saturday however.

Yes, a great debut from Big Boomer, did his home town well.
Hopefully this proves the doubters wrong but also shows young players that its better to sign for the clubs who will play you and develop you rather than signing for the old firm and rotting away in the youth team.
Alan Robertson at Killie deserves a medal for his work with the young Killie players.

Over the two games Scotland played well. Boyd has shown that he is a consistent goal scorer, it will be intersting to see how it shapes up when Miller is available.
I wouldn't want to pick out players as being "rank" but some were shown to be out of their depth even in the "friendly" environment, this however is exactly why Walter decided to honour the fixtures, it gave him a great opportunity to see these players.
In Kobe we were gobsmacked with the scoreline after a short shaky start the team settled well and it almost became shootie in - SO JAPANEASY OH THIS IS SO JAPANEASY......
In Tokyo, it was backs to the wall. I got the impression that Japan could have stepped up a gear, but with two games in as many days the Scots done well.
All in all a good tournement and a very good piece of team bonding. Spirits were high and camradarie very good. Smith and McCoist were out with the TA on the Friday night (along with assorted reporters etc it was a journos stag do) and the full squad ventured out to a couple of bars after the Japan game, again with the TA. Lots of happy smiley faces.......bit of a contrast to "The Berti Days"

Has anyone got photos from the trip that we could put on the website?
If so get them mailed over to me.
