How's everyone doing with their predictions? I'm doing OK i think! Will there be an update on how every one is doing after the group stages etc? What if it's a draw? Surely it would be unfair to split £100 between say 10 people. How will the winner be defined? By the amount of WESTA trips he/she has been on, by guessing the size of Tam Coyle's waist. Surely a tie-breaker question of how many goals scored in this years competition would have been a good idea.
Good to see a few Saltires at some of the matches. Just wish we were all there supporting and competing.

I can't give an update yet Harper...I'm marking about 70 odd entries, Mick's doing another batch and I'm hoping our illustrious chairman is keeping on top of the German entries. At the moment, I'm just marking on the entry forms but will be producing a spreadsheet on performance so far over the weekend and will email that out when it's ready.

Can't get a bloody coupon up at all in this World Cup! A fiver on South Korea to beat Togo 21/20, Brazil to beat Croatia 2/5, Germany to beat Poland 8/15, engurlund to beat the Socca Warriors 1/7, Argentina to beat Serbia, 8/15, Holland to beat Ivory Coast 10/11 all up. Settled down to watch Mexico v Angola 2/5 thinking my 103 quid was safe in my pocket. Bloody hell another fiver down instead of being quids in. Oh well thats my bet on Portugal to beat Iran, Brazil to beat the Aussies, Italy to beat the Yanks and Czechs to beat Ghana OFF. Was going to put at least half my winnings on that 4.

I have 42 entries in Germany and sorry I haven't attempted to mark any of them up...I haven't had the time
Re the flags that Neil spoke of - my saltire was behind the goal at the Brazil -v- Australia match in Munich last Sunday - I could see another six around the stadium

Hope you're enjoying being in Cologne these days Chairman. Heard there was a "skirmish" involving ingurland "fans" on Monday night. Hope it is relatively peaceful with these drunken hordes milling about tonight.

The city was incredibly busy last night - The Germans were out in force celebrating their victory and of course they were joined by circa 85,000 English fans - a large contingent from Sweden and every other nationality imaginable.
The were no reports of any problems and I certainly didn't see any - there were some "choice" songs, only arrests reported this morning were 40 or so Germans "moved on" as a prevention i.e. they were known and identified by spotters
It was a bit weird seeing the British Transport Police in uniform outside the Hbf.

I have found a German volunteer, who is marking them up as we speak - should be completed tonight - his first response is that he doesn't think that there will be a German winner !

Stewards inquiry. Just seen the final results on Jen's E-Mail. Although I have no chance of winning my final score is 30 point s short of what it should be! One of my entrants from work here reckons he should be on 315 points but is only showing as having 260. What's going on? He reckons he's in the money!!!

Quite happy to bring all the 137 entries that me and Mick marked into the next meeting if you fancy going through and verifying them! No idea if I did yours or Mick did but asking a numerical dyslexic like myself to score these was always a dodgy move

Actually, I think what might have happened is that in between numerous updates going back and forward via email between myself and Mick and then getting the German scores, the section of Mick's scores relate to a couple of stages back eg semis or quarters (I think).

The 42 German entries were marked up by one of the locals over here and the guys here have resigned themselves to the fact that they haven't won - they did say that they enjoyed it and made some of the games more interesting
I am a bit disappointed with Neil - I had looked at my sh!t score and said to myself "well you done better than Harper !!!" now he comes on saying that he is looking for another 30 points - I'll need to look for someone else to say "well I was better than.........."
