Using their local knowledge they were able to give very detailed info about transport to and from the airport, currency, places to visit and what we can expect

Couldnt make the meeting and see from above that currency was discussed... can you advise me what is best... is it euros or dollars or just get someone else to buy the drink???

Both Euros and US dollars were acceptable...but Euros just nudging it in the popularity stakes according to Wanderer. But you'll still need to convert to the local currency on arrival to pay for things.
