here's a question..?
What is the best international team seen at Hampden?
England 1968 & 1970 2 draws but they were World chumps at the time! Holland 3 years ago, but as good as they were, especially the following Wed, they didn't win nothing. Czechoslovakia 1977, Euro Champs. We won 3 -1 Argentina '79 friendly. they were world champs and introduced Maradona to us. Skelped us...! Brazil played as World Champs in a 1 - 1 draw in '66. But they got scudded in the World cup that year by Potrugal We beat Argentina in '90 , they were world champs and reached the final again that year. We drew 1 -1 with West Germany in a friendly in 1973, they won the world cup in '74 We beat Italy 1 - 0 in '65 courtesy of John Grieg, they had feet of clay as they went out to North Korea in '66.

The Argentina team in '79 gave us a lesson in how to play football - they were a joy to watch.
Very few teams have come to Hampden and "been allowed" to play football with the Scots tightening up and closing down. In '79 as it was a friendly, the Scots were a bit more open and suffered as a result
