At times like these its worth casting minds back and rembering the good old days. Any thoughts?

I won the Welt Meisterschaft in 1990 as Manager and as a Spieler in 1974. We had a little Spieler called Der Terrier, anybody any idea where he is now?

Its a long time ago but my father took me to Hampden for the 1929 game. I was only wee but I vividly remember Alex Cheyne scoring direct from a corner in the last minute to win 1 - 0. Legend has it that the Hampden roar was born that day. Crowd 110,512. Later that year we played our first game on foreign soil and beat Norway 7 -3 in Bergen. A few days later we drew 1 -1 in Berlin, Imrie of Saint Johnstone scored with 3 minutes to go. The tour finished with a 2 - 0 win in the Netherlands. Happy memories.

My Grandfather was probably there, he went to all the home internationals. One of my first games but a belter. The 3 - 2 win at Tynecastle against Estonia. A cracker with Billy Dodds scoring in the last 5 minutes, was he not a sub that day. Excitement and stramash it had it all. Legend is that Lesley and Shambles were left in a pub holding a dog and didn't go to the game. Surely not!!!!!!!!!

Scotland courtesy of the SFA travelled to the Switzerland World Cup in 1954 with 13 players and jerseys designed for extreme cold weather. It was 90 degrees the day we lost 7 - 0 to Uraguay. the manager Andy Beattie chucked his job in during the tournament in disgust. In keeping with the thread mat Busby was manager for 2 games in '58 winning 1 awat to Wales ( Dennis Laws first game) and drawing with Northern Ireland 1 -1. Never beaten as Scotland manager! Here's a question for Wiseoldman, was the 1959 win at home to West Germany 3 -2 our last friendly win at Hampden?

What a game. 103,415 neatly fitted into hampden. The great John White known as the ghost scored in 1 minute, Weir of Motherwell scored the second and Leggatt of Fulham scored the winner in 23 minutes. It was 3 -2 at half time. We beat Austria 4 -1 in '63 but the game was abandonded so it didn't count as a victory so you may well be right! Hard to beleive we have waited all this time!

Your right Walter's record is poor. He should go, should we start a campaign to get rid of him?
