The demise of the wingers possibly forever, what about the good old inside forward. Tommy Walker of the Hearts. 20 caps between 1934 and 1939. 9 goals, beat that Kenny Miller!I remember him playing in the 2 - 0 defeat of the Auld Enemy in 1935. It had been raining that day and the crowd was kept down to 129,693. Hampden was half empty. Tommy did the business at Wembley in 1936 when he scored with a penalty to get the equaliser. I was at the back of one of the ends , but I remember he kept his calm when the ball blew off the spot and drove the ball into the net. Eat your heart out Gary Mccalister. Walker also played in 1937 in front of the biggest ever crowd in Europe , ever, 149,547. He scored again at Wembley in 1938 when we won 1 - 0. His carreer took a dip when we lost 2 -1 at home in 1939 in front of the second biggest crowd ever in Europe. 149,269. - Hampden was the biggest stadium in the world until 1950. Tommy Walker was a hero for Scotland. When will we see his likes again?

I was once an inside forward, I have not as good as I once was but am willing to have a go. I'm here if you need me Dario. I hear these Paisley boys are good.
