March WESTA Meeting

The March WESTA meeting will take place at 7.30.p.m. in the Team room,1st floor, The Sports Cafe, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow on Sunday 18 March.

The March meeting is being held earlier in the month, as the vast majority of our members will be travelling to Italy the following week.

Usual business inc security update for Bari and special guest (the questions raised by members have been passed on).

Shed tickets will be available to members who placed their order at last months meeting, as will 'fast pass' tickets for the post match party at The Sports Cafe

Excellent meeting last night

Thanks to David Taylor for his honest and forthright responses to the intelligent questions raised by members, both in advance and on the night. The manner in which David was welcomed and received by the members was a credit to the club, he commented after the meeting that he was impressed with the quality of the questions, the supplementary follow up's and the general understanding of the needs of the game and it's administration. David has of course visited WESTA on several occasions before and as he said in his opening remarks, he also likes our venue.

My only dissapointment was his comments that he felt that his successor should be young and energetic aged probably 30 - 35, although he did say that he was playing no part in the selection process - ach , I may as well throw away that application.....the blazer probably woudn't fit me anyway !!

Another good WESTA night, informative and revealing, a number of the points made we have covered before, but it was good to hear it straight from the Chief Executive himself.

We wish him well in his new role and I am sure we will see his 'photo at some time, resplendent in his new WESTA polo shirt

It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway) a lot of what David said was - as a Fan to the Fans - let's not plaster his comments across any public message boards

Think you're OK here Jim. It would appear that nobody uses the forum any more apart from Hamish and his many assumed names!

We do have the occasional poster - the problem with some of the Hamish postings (and some of them are quite funny)is that we assume that they are all Hamish, one of them may be the genuine article and we ignore it !
