EASTA 8 PTA 4
ht 3:2
The game was 5 minutes late in kicking off while the National Anthem was
played.
Both teams stood in a line facing the main stand at Forfar, every man
belting it oot, unlike the real Scotland team!!!
EASTA looked nervious right from the kickoff and Perthshire had good
possesion early on, which was rewarded by the opening goal by young
striker Ian Doris.
EASTA equalised against the run of play but it was a fantastic solo
effort from Stotty. He twisted, turned and teased his way past three
Pertshire defenders before drilling a low shot past Scudder in the PTA
goal.
It wasn't long before PTA were in front again when Ian Doris managed to
lob 6' 4" CLAW, the EASTA keeper, from about 5 yeards out. A superb
finish.
The lead only last a minute.
EASTA right back Leigh Kingston, looking like death warmed up after a
night on the batter with Claw in Embra, went on a mazy run beating 4
Perthshire defenders, before doing a 1-2 with Christie and blasting the
ball into the roof of the net. (it JUST went in!!!)
EASTA went in at half time 3-2 up after Ally Scott scored another solo
goal, Perthshire would fell unlucky to go in behind having put so much
into the match.
EASTA started the 2nd half with 5 subbies and they made an instant
impact as EASTA coasted into a 5-2 lead.
The game looked dead a buried but once again the dreadful defending let
Perthshire back into the match with two quick goals from Ans MacGregor
and Ian Doris hat-trick goal.
There was a nervious 10 minute spell for EASTA as Perthshire pushed for
the equaliser, but it was EASTA who scored next to restore the two goal
advantage.
Two further strikes for EASTA made it 8-4 before the introduction of
EASTA's Secret weapon, THE CLAW, playing up front.
The nearside linesman was almost wetting his pants laughing as CLAW's
pace (or was it his belly) took him offside a few times.

Big thanks to David McGregor, Chairman of Forfar AFC for allowing us to
use Station park for the match and also Martin the groundsman for
running about daft for us and playing Carnival de Paris every time a
goal went in.
Thanks to Bruce from the Angus Battallion (aka ForfarLoon) and the rest
of the ABTA guys for their support and hospitality in TC's.
Right Glenn/Tam, can you match that report?
