Hello all.
As well as our 11-a-side game against Campbeltown TA on May 9th, we are back across the water to the same venue on June 26th for the annual 7-a-side tournament. Which, for those of you who aren't aware, involves all the main Tartan Army supporters clubs kicking seven bells out each other during one afternoon then follow this up with a mass drinking session together the same night
Since we'll be entering a team once again this year I need to know who is interested in heading over - the more the better as far as I'm concerned!!
On the football side of things we'll be taking a squad of 10 across so not everyone involved in the team will have the chance to play but this doesn't stop anyone not playing from coming along. Likewise from our members we've have had a good turn out by them in Perth and in Saltcoats the past couple of years so there is no reason why the same numbers or even more can join us this year.
At our meeting on Sunday I mentioned it seems to be the same 'usual suspects' that are involved in the social side of WESTA, and with a number of football games with nights out attached to them I am hoping to see a change in this with new faces joining us 'auld yins' and becoming a regular feature in our get togethers
It was stated in the meeting on Sunday that there will be a joint travel venture by coach heading over to Campbeltown involving ourselves and one or two other TA's - one bus leaving the Friday night and the other the Saturday morning. The numbers we need to collate are needed sooner rather than later so have a think if you would be going on June 26th, whether you're playing or not, and get back to me or to any of the committee so we can get things arranged - this includes accommodation for the one or two nights at a hotel/B&B but spaces just now are being taken up quickly so we need to get moving on this!!
It is a really good day and definitely recommend that if you've never been to any of the 7's tournaments then don't miss out - thanks to Tennents Lager I don't remember leaving the party at each one I've been to and I'm sure I'm not the only one
If anyone wants further info then give me a shout.
Cheers.
Glenn.
