Hello to all WESTA fitba' squad.
Our game against Prestonpans TA is still going ahead although I've not heard any further updates (ie where the pitch is?) from our contact at PTA.
Arrangements had been made the week before and they still stand. We will be kicking off over at there park at 1pm so please meet outside the Iron Horse at 10pm for a 10.30pm departure. There is no bus organised so we will be taking cars across so thanks to the volunteers so far and any others would be greatly appreciated.
If you have not already received a text from me about the game and wish to play then contact me on 07811 33 44 03 a.s.a.p. so I know for numbers involved.
Many thanks and c'mon the WESTA!!!
Glenn.

Prestonpans TA 5 v 1 WESTA
Despite the end result making the game look like one way traffic the youngest WESTA team in history played extremely well in patches yesterday at the Meadowmill Sports Centre in Prestonpans yesterday.
The youngsters were unlucky not to make the end result a lot closer as several chances were missed in the second half. If the away team had managed to gain something from the pressure and numerous corners which resulted it might have been a different story.
As it was it was a lone strike from John Gervaise, after good work by David Edmondson on the left which was the only reply to the 5 goals scored by Prestonpans.
A combination of poor defending and wicked deflections led to the large margin of defeat. Indeed goalkeeper Darius Wilson played extremely well throughout and will feel hard done by to have lost 5 goals.
However the main culprits of the defeat were once again experienced WESTA players pulling out with little or no notice and a lack of games played by the team. WESTA players will have to learn that its not only home games that count and numbers are required for away game as well.
So, well done to the lads that made the trip yesterday. Heads can be held up high as a result of a fine battling performance in the sunshine.
