Why no Kevin Kyle

I am surprised and unhappy that Kevin Kyle is not in the pool. His performance against Germany in Ahlen was by far the best I've seen in a long time from a Scotland striker. His all round play that night was fantastic. He won every ball in the air, first touch was excellent, distribution to a Scttish player evertime. Even if he didn't start, he would have been a first class option on the bench.

Though I think he is a player with so much potential and will be a useful player in the squad for years to come, I feel he is still not ready for the step up to the full squad.
Also, remember the U21's have an important match against Croatia next week, so need to let them have some strikers also.

He's had a chance in the Scotland full squad and, in all honestly, he wasn't good enough.

I've heard stories that he's doing well in Sunderland - but keep in mind that's First Division football now, not the Premiership anymore.

We've also got a few good attacking players who I feel are much better than Kyle - Miller, Crawford, Dickov, Hutchison and McFadden for example.

I couldn't make the U21 game in Germany as the trains didn't arrive in time, but watched the game in the hotel - and I can't really remember Kyle standing out...

He's definately one for the future, but don't think he's ready yet.

Remember, he's only 22, so lets give the guy time to develop as a player.

And so what if its the first division?? It might have slipped your mind, but wasn't that the same division Miller and Dickov were score goals for fun in last season?

Crawford, Dickov and Hutchinson only have one, maybe two, years left in them....so we need to start thinking about the future and players like Kyle will be involved.

As I said, he's one for the future but, in my opinion, is not good enough for the full squad yet.
